Brazil Paper Association Statistics recently released data show that in August, production of Brazil paper products 880 thousand tons, unchanged from the same period last year; domestic sales of 491 thousand tons, down 1.4%; consumption of 863 thousand tons, an increase of 0.9%; exports 152 thousand tons, down 1.9%; imports 135 thousand tons, an increase of 3.8%.
In August, pulp output was 1 million 210 thousand tons, an increase of 1.2% compared with the same period last year, and domestic sales of 136 thousand tons, a decrease of 1.4% compared to the same period last year, 368 thousand tons of consumption, a decrease of 36% over the previous year, 38 thousand tons of imports, an increase of 2.7% over the previous year, and 883 thousand tons of exports, an increase of 33.6% over the same period last year.
